M&M Precision History

M & M Precision was started in 1996 as a part time venture, by owners Mike & Marcia Burg. Mike has over 40 years experience as a Journeyman Tool & Die Maker and Marcia has over 35 years experience in the banking world. In 2004, Mike and Marcia decided to expand from a part time venture to full time one stop job shop. The company was gaining traction and expanding their customer base. M&M purchased their first CNC machining center in 2005 and saw exponential growth that year. In 2008 the company purchased their first “large” machining center, a Johnford DMC-3100SH twin column vertical machining center, at IMTS in Chicago.

The company continued to grow and become more diversified even through the economic down turn of ’08-’09. M&M added several dedicated and hardworking employees as well as upgrading their software and cutting tool technology over the next few years. A building addition and large CNC horizontal boring mill were added in 2012 increasing their machining capacity to 197” x 118” (max 55,000lb table load) and total shop square footage to its current configuration of 7500 sqft. Dual overhead cranes were installed giving the company 15 tons lifting capacity the full length and width of the entire shop.

Mike retired in 2017 and Jeff Burg, Mike & Marcia’s son, has taken over as CEO. He has added new machines and implemented several new ideas. M & M's current and future success is due, in part, to their great work ethic, old school personalized customer service, and a great team of employees who always get the jobs done with customer satisfaction in mind.
